Dave Ulrich 교수가 쓴 <HR Transformation>을 개략적으로 정리한 글을 읽었다.

이 책에서 Dave Ulrich 교수는 HR 전문가들이 당면한 문제는 "Helping their orgarnization succeed"이라고 밝히고 있다. 물론 Hiring People, Developing leaders, Building incentive programmes 등이 중요하지 않다는 말은 아니다. 다만, "focus internally on their own function and roles" 만큼 "externally on what their customers needs"도 중요하다는 말이다.

이러한 HR Transformation을 위해 HR 전문가들이 갖춰야 할 역량으로 6개 영역을 제시했다.

1. Credible activist
being able to form relationships of trust with others while having a strong point of view about the business

2. Business ally
understanding the business and knowing how it makes money and serves customers

3. Strategic architect
contributing to the formulation and implementation of strategy by creating strategic stories and aligning HR practices and leadership behaviors

4. Operational executor
making sure the day to day work of HR is done with flawless execution

5. Talent manager/organization designer
ensuring that HR practices around talent and organization are innovative and integrated

6. Change and culture steward
making change happen and sustaining that change into new cultural norms tied to customers

위 6개 역량은 HR로부터 value를 창출하는데 성공하는 사람들의 차별화 포인트라고 하는데, 나는 얼마나 위 6개 역량에 대해 갖추고 있는지 다시한번 반성해 본다.
